New York — Universal Pictures has shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 indefinitely following the death of its star, Paul Walker.

The studio announced on Wednesday that the film will shut down "for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise".

The seventh instalment of the street car racing series had begun shooting in September. While much of Fast & Furious 7 has been filmed, it's far from complete.

When Walker, 40, died in a fiery car crash on Saturday north of Los Angeles, the film was on break for the Thanksgiving holiday. Shooting had been planned to resume Monday in Atlanta, but production was put on hold following Walker's death.

Universal had been trying to fast-track Fast & Furious 7 for a 11 July release, a date that's likely to be postponed. Universal hasn't yet announced any release date change.

"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers," the studio said in a statement.

Walker was killed by injuries from both the impact and subsequent fire when the high-powered Porsche driven by his friend crashed, according to autopsy results released Wednesday.

The actor died from the "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries", according to the autopsy released by the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

At the wheel was Roger Rodas, Walker's friend, financial adviser and co-owner of a professional racing team. The two died when Rodas' 2005 Porsche Carrera GT smashed into a light pole and tree, then exploded in flames.

Cause of accident still to be determined

Sheriff's investigators were still trying to determine what caused Rodas to careen out of control. They have said speed was a factor in the one-car crash northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Rodas was killed by the impact alone, the doctor who performed the autopsy concluded. Results of toxicology testing for drugs or alcohol will take another six to eight weeks.

The limited-edition Porsche was previously owned by IndyCar driver Graham Rahal, who has said it was difficult to drive. It is not just fast — it can hit 160km/h in less than 7 seconds — but also unforgiving in its handling.

Walker starred in all but one instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise, which has been particularly lucrative for Universal. Fast & Furious 6, released in May, was the highest grossing film in the series, earning more than $788m worldwide.

Universal announced Tuesday that it will donate a portion of the proceeds from the upcoming DVD, Blu-ray and digital release of Fast & Furious 6 to Walker's charity Reach Out Worldwide.

Walker founded Reach Out Worldwide in 2010 to give first-response aid to victims of natural disasters. Walker was hosting a fundraiser for the non-profit on Saturday afternoon before the crash.
Los Angeles - Vin Diesel has mourned Paul Walker with a video montage of their best moments.

The Fast & Furious actor, whose co-star died in a tragic car accident last November, shared the 18-minute long video on Facebook on Tuesday, highlighting some of his most treasured memories of Paul.

In the clip, the inseparable stars are seen laughing and joking with each other during interviews and appearances while promoting the various Fast & Furious films over the years.

Referring to their characters in the speed-racing franchise, Vin introduced the clip by writing: "A glimpse... of Dom and Brian... off screen. (sic)"

The 46-year-old action star has publicly mourned the loss of his close pal with his 60 million Facebook fans since Paul's death on November 30, and earlier this week he shared yet another touching tribute to his late co-star by recalling some of their antics together.

He wrote: "The time when Paul and I closed down a press junket in LA... I believe it was the only time in history that a junket was ever shut down due to driving. Haha, it was the last time the studio ever had cars at a junket that Paul and I were at."

Vin also thanked fans for their continued support as he grieves.

He added: "You have always been so supportive, especially in these past two months... So, I wanted to share something personal that I worked on through the New Year, in honor of my brother Pablo... Paul. (sic)"
Los Angeles - Kim Kardashian saves her "twerking" for "the bedroom".

The brunette beauty - who has 12-month-old daughter North with husband Kanye West - told her family she no longer goes to clubs but saves her raunchy dance moves to use in private.

She said: "My twerking skills are for the bedroom, not the club."

Kim was speaking with her mother Kris Jenner, sister Khloe Kardashian and half-sister Kendall Jenner during a Soul Cycle class during an episode of KKWK season 9 which is not yet airing in SA.

During the workout session, the showbiz matriarch was the subject of a number of mean comments from her younger daughter.

As Kris started clapping and dancing to the music, Kendall blasted: "Do you always have to be the centre of attention? It's so annoying 'Eww mom, you're so embarrassing, you need to act your age.'"

She then muttered: "Desperate f***ing w***e."

Kris, 58, didn't appear to hear the comment and later told her daughters: "This reminds me of being in the club, for real. I love the music, I love the energy, everyone's so excited."

Kendall snapped: "Why are you going to clubs? This is so embarrassing."

Kris said she simply liked "being out an about", prompting the teenager to brand her an "embarrassment to the family".

While Kim stayed silent, Khloe laughed at Kendall's mean comments and later criticised her mother for needing more attention following her split from husband Bruce Jenner last October.

Khloe said: "Ever since Bruce moved out, my mom needs so much attention. But sometimes it's like, OK, relax, chill. Everyone knows you're here."

The sisters eventually saw they had been unfair and later apologised to their mother.

Paris Saint-Germain haveannounced the signing of David Luiz on a five-year deal from Chelsea.

The Brazillian has joined the Ligue 1 champions after they agreed a reported fee of £50 million with the Stamford Bridge side, smashing the world-record sum for a defender.

The centre-back confirmed his departure from Chelsea towards the end of May when he took to Twitter and Facebook to thank fans and colleagues for their support during his three-and-a-half-year stint in London.

Luiz fell out of favour under Mourinho, along with several other first-team players, at the beginning of last season, and Goal learned of a possible move to PSG in May.

The move will now see Luiz link up with his central defensive partner for the national team, Thiago Silva, straight after their World Cup campaign, and he has already spoken of his excitement of his move to France.

The former Benfica man made 143 appearances for the Blues and scored from the spot during their Champions League final shootout triumph over Bayern Munich in 2012.

The 27-year-old revealed his departure on Facebook in May saying: "Thanks Chelsea for the three and half years of great partnership.

"I've made good friends, won many titles and those memories will last with me for ever. I'd like to thank my team-mates, all staff and all supporters (my geezers).

"I'm leaving with great sadness but at the same time excited for the new challenge that lies ahead in this great club in a city that has always enchanted me."

Romelu Lukaku: Striker impressed on loan at Everton Romelu Lukaku is still hoping to play for Chelsea, but the Belgian striker is likely to wait until after the World Cup to resolve his future.

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011, but has started only one Premier League game for the club and has yet to score.

However, Lukaku has impressed on loan at West Brom and Everton in the past two seasons, and has scored four goals in two friendlies for Belgium over the past week.

He has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but has been linked with a loan move to Atletico Madrid as Chelsea reportedly close on the signing of Diego Costa from the Spanish champions.

Lukaku had been keen to learn his future before playing at the World Cup, but he has confirmed that his ambition is to be given the chance to make his mark at Chelsea.

"It would be nice to get clarity beforehand, but that will not happen, so I'm completely focused on the World Cup," Lukaku told Het Nieuwsblad.

"You know, I still have a two-year contract at the biggest club in England, because that's Chelsea. So I still hope to play there. Chelsea have a good coach."

Lukaku followed up a hat-trick against Luxembourg last Monday with the opening goal in Belgium's 2-0 win away to Sweden on Sunday and he is happy with his form heading into the World Cup.

He added: "I have been working hard on my game over the past few months and everything seems to be coming out now.

"I have a good feeling about this competition."

50 Cent claims Beyoncé Knowles once confronted him for getting into an argument with Jay Z and ''jumped

The 'In Da Club' hitmaker was shocked when the 'Drunk In Love' singer, nicknamed Sasha Fierce, ''jumped off a ledge and came running over'' to defend her husband at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.

The 38-year-old rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, told 'The Breakfast Club' on New York City radio station Power 105.1: ''One time [Beyoncé] jumped off of a ledge and came running over cause she thought me and Jay had issues.

And I'm like, 'What the f**k? Did she really just jump and run up on me like that?' '' The 32-year-old beauty became very protective of Jay because she thought things were about to turn physical between him and the 'Candy Shop' hitmaker, but they soon laughed off the dispute.

He said: ''She jumped out and I was like this, 'What?! That Bonnie and Clyde for real! You try this or what, boy?! I'm here!' She bugged out at me. I looked and Jay starts laughing. He's like, 'Yo, you know what it is.' '' News of Beyoncé's run-in with 50 Cent comes almost one month after her sister, Solange Knowles, attacked Jay Z in an elevator at the Met Ball after party in New York City on May 5.

The trio released a joint statement after video footage of the altercation was leaked, saying: ''Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a
off a ledge'' to defend her husband.
BALE-OUT: Bale snubbed by UEFA The Wales ace was a shock omission from the UEFA's elite 18-man squad Champions League squad, unveiled yesterday, despite scoring in the 4-1 final win over Atletico in Lisbon - his sixth strike in the tournament.

And Bale's national boss Chris Coleman reckons the panel including Sir Alex Ferguson, Roy Hodgson and Fernando Hierro got their selection of Diego Costa, Cristiano Ronaldo, Arjen Robben and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all wrong.

Coleman, who is without Bale for the friendly against Holland in Amsterdam with a leg injury, said: "I'm surprised. He's had a really good season.

"He has won arguably the biggest trophy - bar the World Cup - in football. He scored 20-odd goals and had loads of assists.

"I don't know what he has to do for people to say he's had a good season? On the back of last season, he has to be in there, for sure."
It hardly came as a surprise that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, headed by Police

Signs of government irritation at being found out as incompetent and dishonest had manifested for weeks. Last week, a group of protesters, obviously raised by the Federal Government, attacked peaceful protesters in Abuja. This was quickly followed up by the inane claim of Mr. Labaran Maku, the Information Minister, that 90 per cent of those involved in the #Bring back our girls campaign were members of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.

Whatever doubts remained about the government feeling hot under the collar were removed yesterday when the FCT Police Command, at a news quoted the CP Mbu as banning the campaign with immediate effect on the ground that the campaigners had developed into a serious security threat to residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

“As the FCT Police boss, I cannot fold my hands and watch this lawlessness. Information reaching us is that soon, dangerous elements will join groups under the guise of protest and detonate explosives aimed at embarrassing the government.

“People have been protesting over a month now…it is the issue of terrorism, it is not solved in one day.

“Then, when you continue to do it persistently, it becomes nuisance to the government,” Mbu was quoted as saying.

We commend Mbu and his command for their concern and sense of duty. However, there is absolutely no legal basis for the power the Police Commissioner is relying on to ban lawful assembly. Until the government-backed protesters caused violence last week, the popular one led by Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, a former World Bank big shot, had recorded no untoward event for the 34 days it ran.

Even the police had initially said the protests were legitimate. Protests of the peaceful variety are a part of democracy all over the world. No law requires Nigerians to obtain police permits before lawful assembly. What the government has done is to demonstrate that, without a doubt, it does not want to take responsibility for the abduction of the girls and has been clearly embarrassed by its initial denial of the saga and tepid response to it.

Mbu, of course, has premiered his inglorious conduct in Abuja. As CP of Rivers State, he was a virtual errand boy for the President and his wife, who used him as a battle axe in their feud with Governor Rotimi Amaechi. We are happy that the campaigners are undettered and have headed for the court. We call on Mbu to rescind his plainly illegal and partisan decision to abridge one of the freedoms granted us by the law.
Commissioner Joseph Mbu, would come down heavily and illegally on the peaceful sit-in embarked upon by harmless citizens demanding the release of the over 200 school girls abducted by Boko Haram.

Los Angeles - Angelina Jolie is set to play Cleopatra on the big screen.

The Maleficent actress has revealed she's in line to take on the part of the iconic Egyptian queen in an Eric Roth-scripted movie.

She confessed during a BBC Radio 5 Live interview: "There's been lots of different ideas of directors and a lot of different discussions. The script has been written by Eric Roth, who is a dear friend and a brilliant writer."

Angelina has big shoes to fill, since Cleopatra - who was the last active pharaoh of Ancient Egypt - was last played by the late Elizabeth Taylor in the classic 1963 film.

And the 38-year-old star has hinted the challenging role will be her very last before retiring from Hollywood in order to focus on her humanitarian work and directing.

She said: "That's where you finish, in a great way. You kind of go, 'What could you do beyond that one?' Put it all into that one."

Angelina also let slip that Oscar-winning directors Ang Lee and David Fincher had expressed an interest in the upcoming movie project.
Jose Mourinho is preparing to welcome Tiago, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis into his Chelsea squad as super Atletico Madrid, reports El Confidencial.

Mendes is one of the most well connected men in football and has already helped broker a deal that will see Tiago return to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.

But Mourinho wasn't happy with just one of Atletico Madrid's heroes. He has also been pursuing striker Costa and left-back Luis and seems to be closing in a combined €50m deal for both of them.

According to the Spanish broadsheet, Mendes will hold a meeting with Atletico executive Gil Marin on Wednesday in the hope of finalising the transfer fees and allowing the Blues to schedule a medical for both players ahead of the World Cup.

Luis is not expected to make the final Brazil squad while Costa will travel to his homeland, competing for his adopted country, Spain.

Both players have already agreed personal terms with Chelsea with only the fine details of the transfer fee needing to be ironed out. Exceptionally, Costa has held an agreement with Chelsea for over two months and has been waiting for a fee to be agreed for some time now.

Chelsea are expected to pay €38m for Diego Costa after Atletico failed to convince Costa to allow them to increase his release clause to €60m.

Roman Abramovich expects and is prepared to pay another €12m - taking the total value up to €50m for both players - in order to seal a deal quickly.
